Took $12 and not a whole lot of time!
Step 1: Tools - I bought Rust Oleum Cold Galvanizing Compound and Rust Oleum Rust Reformer.
Step2: Prep! Broke up loose rust and paint.
You can see the wax layer that was compromised by the rock chip.
Step 3: Masking! First, masking off the area...
Step 4: Protect from overspray. (A random PT Cruiser appears!)
Step 5: Spray away!!!
Step 6: Admire your work. If you want to add more coats, you’ll have to wait 24 hours before the next coat. I will be doing 2 or 3.
Step 7: After you’re finished with your coats of Rust Reformer, go over your work with the Cold Galvanizing Compound. Touch-up paint where desired.
I’ll make a full how-to with an accompanying YouTube video when I’m fully finished!

Pay me in alcohol and/or a trailer and you got a deal? :D

I’m fresh out of trailer, but we have plenty of bourbon.
I’ve been trolling Craigslist looking for a super cheap utility trailer that’s missing a title. All I need to do is pop rivet on the ID plate from that old HF trailer.

Wow, You did a perfect job there, my friend who helped me to fix my weather strips rust didn’t do a half decent job as yours, in his defense i just payed him with pizza. Let’s find a spot, I’ll buy all the materials and all the alcohol you need and I’ll drive there. No joking.
Looking forward to that video.
